This is a version of the 'Simple' Rosary, as it's called here, which you can download and run on your own computer. It's in a 'zip' file. Use whatever unZip program you prefer and just put all the files in the same directory.
The Rosary.htm file really only works in IE 6. It will run in Firefox, for example. But it won't look very good.
It was thought that combining these into a single file might be convenient, particularly a Microsoft Compiled/Compressed Help File, a 'chm'. That would only run in IE and one wouldn't be tempted to try Firefox, for example.
But a funny thing, the chm is sort of a busted version of the non-compressed file. In particular, given particular versions, or perhaps the security/privacy settings, of IE - it can't read or write cookies. That's not good. It is important because there are a number of options and settings one can make even in this 'simple' version of the Rosary. Not being able to store/remember these, having to set them each and every time one reloaded the page, would be unacceptable. A workaround was suggested, namely placing the cookie javascript code in a separate file and loading to an iframe. But that was disallowed, as well, in the 'chm'. So for all the hassle of setting it up, to begin with, and finding it didn't work, it was just as easy to bring together some files, here, and zip them up.
Some changes were made from the online version. Obviously, it's not compatible, now, with Firefox or Opera. But a different cookie is used, as well, so that it won't alter the cookie you would use when viewing the same 'Simple' Rosary page, online. And some other things were altered to make it possible to select different styles from a dropdown box, which on the website is restricted only to the home page.
